SONICTEST LABS™ PROVIDES INDIVIDUALIZED HEALTHCARE THROUGH INDUSTRY-LEADING DIAGNOSTIC AND REPORTING CAPABILITIES.
SonicTest Labs™ uses a CLIA and CAP accredited, state-of-the-art, esoteric laboratory for our STD Testing. We specialize in high-complexity molecular testing with an extensive portfolio of services including infectious disease, toxicology, targeted sequencing, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping, Next- Generation Sequencing (NGS), high-resolution immune profiling, and cutting-edge environmental testing.
We apply the maximum level of control to obtain the most consistent and highest quality results. SonicTest relies on our three guiding principles: COMPLIANCE, INNOVATION, and PARTNERSHIP.
INFECTIOUS DISEASE - STD / STI
A Dynamic Infectious Disease Laboratory
We are proud to offer a dynamic, state-of-the-art laboratory that takes pride in delivering a large STD testing panel via a wide array of collection methods tested with a multitude of platforms. In addition to simplifying the detection and identification of HPV, SonicTest Labs provides the detection of a wide array of typically STD-related infections including Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC), Trichomonas Vaginalis (TR), Bacterial vaginosis (BV), Candida vaginitis (CV) as well as identification of group B streptococcus (GBS) and Herpes simplex (HSV) 1 and 2. Our dedicated scientists and technologists, along with our fully-developed pipeline and proprietary LIS, ensure that our turn-around-time for ID reporting stays well within a 2-3 day timeframe.
SonicTest Labs provides comprehensive, diagnostic services for multiple pathogens – viral and bacterial.
Our Infectious Diseases department provides research support services for multiple investigators as well as serology and molecular clinical diagnostic services for multiple healthcare facilities.
The ID department has been participating in research trials of new technologies for the diagnosis of sexually transmitted pathogens, some of which have become standard diagnostic techniques.
STD Detection Windows
Unbeknown to many people, STDs have a detection window in which they can be detected in STD tests. Most STDs cannot be detected for days, if not weeks, after initial exposure. For this reason, it’s important to understand what these time periods are. Also make sure to keep in mind the fact that your first “negative” test might not be completely accurate due to these detection windows.
|STD / STI||Testing Window|
|Hepatitis C||4-12 Weeks|
|Herpes Simplex 1 & 2||2-16 Weeks|
|HIV Antibody Test||3-12 Weeks|
|HIV Early Detection Test||1-4 Weeks|
SENSITIVITY AND SPECIFICITY OF OUR TESTING
Most clinical tests use sensitivity and specificity as measures of performance and accuracy. "Sensitivity" describes how accurate the test is at identifying positive results correctly, and "Specificity" describes how accurate the test is at identifying negative results correctly. See the chart below for our laboratory's sensitivities and specificities for each test.
